What are builds?

Mosaics on zumyn are designed to grow as you add more photos to them. Each time a mosaic is constructed, it is called a build. Builds can only produced with certain numbers of photos in them. In the case of landscape shaped mosaics, each build has to have an equal number of rows and columns. Each subsequent build has one more row and column in it.

The table below shows the builds for the baby example from our gallery:

1 x 1 = 1 photo
2 x 2 = 4 photos
3 x 3 = 9 photos
4 x 4 = 16 photos
5 x 5 = 25 photos
6 x 6 = 36 photos
7 x 7 = 49 photos
8 x 8 = 64 photos
9 x 9 = 81 photos
10 x 10 = 100 photos

If you had 12 photos for example, then the highest build that could be produced would have 9 photos. Therefore, the 3 most recently uploaded could not be included until another 4 were added to get to the next build level of 16 photos.

It is not neccesary to add photos to get to the next build, you can stop adding photos whenever you wish and close your mosaic so that you can order a print.
